Straight after leaving Taichung I came here. My last stop in Taiwan was Sun Moon Lake – a very scenic and atmospheric place.

The lake is pretty famous amongst the local population and is the largest body of water on the island. Its also a traditional spot for newlywed couples to take their honeymoon. The lake isn’t for swimming in, so people just take bikes to cycle around it.

For me, Sun Moon Lake itself isn’t that interesting, after all a lake is a lake. What was more spectacular than the lake itself was its surroundings, with beautiful views, rivers and zero tourists.
